Matt the Handyman? Anderson

My Mr. Handyman assembled a dresser for me last weekend. We now have matching dressers from IKEA. I no longer have to struggle to open my old, beat-up dresser's drawers and worry about the protruding nails snagging my clothing. Isn't it nice to have a handyman around the house? :)

Matt with his "Screwy-in Thingy" (His words, not mine.)

Look, Mom! I'm domestic!

(And she thought I'd never take up canning!)

Okay. So, this endeavor was completely exhausting. If it hadn't been for the free apricots (Thanks, Danny!) I would have never attempted this tedious feat. It took practically all day standing over a hot stove to just do 24 pints of jam. Is it really worth it?!?!

The Honeymoon

On our way to Southern Cali, we stopped in Vegas and saw...
...of the Opera. LOVED it!!!!!!!!!!!

We then went to Sea World and...
...saw the dolphin show,

the killer whale show,

and many other attractions such as the turtle reef,

Baluga whales,

and the Arctic. (Matt got a really bad sunburn and was cooling his skin a bit on the ice wall.)

We attended a session at the San Diego Temple,

Went to the beach,

generously applied sunblock,

and froze our toes almost right off. (For me - literally - thank you Raynaud's.)

Brrrr...

We played at Six Flags,

Rode the X2 2 times, (We had to. It's implied in its name.)

then saw the attractions at Universal Studios.

Waiting in line. (We did a lot of this, and small town girls are just not used to long lines.)

Whoville

Major Flash Flood. (Good thing we were on a tour bus and quickly drove away.)

In all, it was a fantabulous vacation. I loved having fun with my Matty. :)

The Reception

The Sign-In Table

A few of my past kindergarten students came. It was sooooo fun to see them again and to see how big they've grown!

A friend of mine made these yummy strawberries.

Water Fountain

Matt designed the cake and his brother, Jeremy, made it - cake stand and all!

Susan and Alexis at the Candy Table. Matt promised them 3 bags of candy if they helped out at the reception. Needless to say, they were thrilled - especially Susan. ;)

Landon and Louie

Matt's aunt and sisters-in-law made the cheesecake.

Carl - looking as stunning as ever.

Grandma, Aunt Debbie, and Shirece

The Receiving Line

Cheesy grins with Grandma and Grandpa Herriges.

Cutting the Cake

Louie making her grand entry when it was time to throw the bouquet. She started strong, but didn't finish strong because...

...Shirece caught the bouquet!!!

I love my Matty-Bear.

Our reception was wonderful!!!! I loved seeing all of our family and friends. Thank you to all who came. We love you!!
