Camp Tifie - Scout Camp 2025

The week of June 22nd, Matt and Gavin attended Scout Camp at Camp Tifie near Mt. Pleasant, Utah.  They had a good camp - only one scout had to be taken to the ER for shoving a stick into his lip, but other than that, everything went smoothly and the boys/leaders all got along.

Gavin was able to earn a few more merit badges.  He is on track to get his Eagle in around one year from now.

Gavin is the SPL - Senior Patrol Leader.

 

Madagascar Jr

For the 3rd year in a row, Laynie was part of a children's community theatre.  This year was Madagascar Jr!  Laynie was cast as a lemur, water and New Yorker.  I was so proud of her for getting out of her comfort zone.  She didn't have any friends in the play with her, but she still enjoyed going each day and when she performed, she sparkled!

Father's Day 2025

For Father's Day, we made Matt one of his favorite dinners:  shrimp and crab legs!  Matt is everything I could ever wish for - for our kids.  He works hard at providing for his family, even when work is frustrating and coworkers are annoying.  He puts family first, prioritizing his time so he never misses important moments with the kids - scouting with Gavin, attending Laynie's dance recitals, as many school and church events as he can make it to.  He gives good advice, and is the best listener.  Happy Father's Day, Matt!  We sure love you!!

 

Quad Date - Sandbox VR

Joni and Justin hosted a fun quad date - Sandbox VR!  The girls were in one virtual reality room

and the boys were in another.

We had to put on VR gear and a headset that made us look like pirates.  The, throughout the session, we had to fight skeletons, ghosts, dodge cannonballs, and shoot boxes of dynamite.

Thank, J&J for a fun night.

Sad Side Note:  Misti wasn't there.  She and Ryan might be getting a divorce, and that makes me very sad...

 

Chalk, Walk & Boogie

The day after we returned home from our vacation, Laynie started theatre camp and participated in the Chalk, Walk & Boogie.  The Theme this year was, "As you wish."  Laynie decided to make a big heart with buttercup flowers surrounding it, and a princess crown.  Laynie spent close to 2 1/2 hours doing her chalk art.  During which, she was IN HER ELEMENT!  She loves the arts - singing, acting and drawing.  (Just like me.)

Gavin visited a booth that was promoting eating together as a family and was given an apron!  lol.  He had fun wearing it around as the artists were finishing up.

I told her not to expect to win anything... but lo and behold, she did!  She won the Mayor's Choice award in the novice category.

As well as a $25 gift card!

 

Heading Home

We woke up Sunday morning, packed up, said goodbye to Aunt Kim, dropped in at Uncle Lloyd's to also say goodbye, then went into Glacier National Park.  We took a little drip up as far as we could.  (Logan's Pass is blocked off due to there still being snow.)  We saw a grizzly bear, and some pretty waterfalls.  We stopped in Helena Montana to eat lunch and went to the nearest park as directed by Google.  Low and behold, the park was pretty much across the street from the LDS Temple!!  So that was a nice place to spend a Sunday lunch.  Matt (bless his heart) did all the driving for this trip while I cuddled Millie!  LOL!

I LOVE my family!  I hope they know that, and treasure these times together as much as I do!  The kids were such good travelers and vacation-goers.  I don't want times like these to ever end.
