June Happenings

Gavin lined up his stuffed toys before falling asleep.  He does this quite often, so I snapped a picture for memory's sake.

Gavin now dresses himself.

I babysat my friend's kids for a couple of days and we made super hero masks.

Gavin has been taking a gymnastics class.

We went to the Treehouse Museum in Ogden with my old high school friend, Kami, and her kids.  This is the only picture I got because we were having too much fun!

He's TIE-rific in every way!

Happy Father's Day to you, Matt!  These two munchkins are so lucky to have you.  I love how you put family first.  I love how you'll watch the kids every Saturday morning so I can sleep in. I love how you fulfill your priesthood duties which, in large, qualify and prepare you to be the best dad/husband you could possibly be.  You are TIE-rific in every way!!!

I wanted to try something new by making a cake with fondant.  Looks pretty, but tastes WAY too sugary.  I think I'll stick with the good old buttercream!

We gave Matt a tie and some shirts.

Happy Father's Day, Matt!  We love you!!

5 Months!

Laynie Bug turned 5 months old on June 12!  She's putting on the pounds now and is becoming quite the little chunk.  She loves to grab anything in sight.  She'll either put it in her mouth or throw it down to see what happens.  She's been drooling excessively for the past 2 months - there's got to be a tooth in there somewhere!!!  She loves to go places, but hates the car ride there.  She loves playing peek-a-boo and would jump up and down on your lap all day if you let her.  She also loves to sing, but it sounds more like a nasally gurgle!  She's not the best sleeper but makes up for it with her special smile.  We love you, Laynie!

5 Month Stats:
Weight: 15.4 lbs (53%tile)
Height: 25.25" (50%tile)
Head Circumference: 16.5" (62%tile)

Gavin continues to be the best big brother Laynie could ask for.  He loves her so very much.  He's getting so big too - practically 100% potty trained, puts on his own clothes, helps Mom around the house, will tell you what sound any word begins with, has all the energy in the world, and loves to be read to.  We checked out a book from the library called, Do Not Open This Book. Gavin fell in love with it and when we returned it, instead of putting it in the book return slot, Gavin marched right up to the circulation desk, gave it to the librarian, and warned her "Don't open this book!"

This is the Place Heritage State Park

On June 12, This is the Place Heritage State Park hosted a free day.  My friend Chelsea and I decided to take advantage of the day and bring our littles along.  We all had such a fun time!  Ice cream, pony rides, splash pad, train rides, panning for gold, mountain men, Native American dancers, mid-1800's troubadours, countless mid-1800's shops, a school, a bank, a grist mill, etc. etc. etc.  And it was all FREE!  We could have spent all day there, but our babies needed to get out of the sun and our toddlers started to get cranky...  I guess we'll just have to go back next year.

ZCMI Mercantile Store (We bought some old-fashioned candy there)

Laynie was amazing!  She loves to be out and about.

Happy birthday, Madelyn!

Our little friend, Madelyn, turned one year old at the end of May.  We celebrated with her family - Minnie Mouse style!  It was such a cute party.  Gavin had a blast playing on the bounce house, and I couldn't resist taking a picture of my two little mice.

A Movin' and a Shakin'!

This Little Lady loves her Exer-saucer and Johnny Jump-up.
Who wouldn't, right?!?
