Give me a Yip! Give me a Yat! Give me a Yay for Matt!
Matt applied for a different position at his work place and out of 14 candidates, was offered the job!! His new job will be managing the content on the Church History websites. This job was a major blessing to our family. We feel like the Lord has answered our prayers, and we are so grateful to Him. Because Matt's new job will require more responsibility, over-time, and he's got one more year of grad school at the U, we feel a move to the BIG city is imperative. Now I'm not a fan of the BIG city, but I'm happy to give up my clear skies and open spaces so Matt's commute is significantly reduced. That's just the kind of wifey I am. :) But I'm sure going to miss my Eagle Mountain...
Sparky the Dog
Hi! This is my dog, Sparky!
He can flip!
And he can sit!
Good dog, Sparky.
Doggie Whiskers
If you are wondering, Gavin's 2 year old cousin pinned him down and tried to rip his face off a couple days ago. :) Poor little fella.
TANK WARS 2013
Every July, Matt's family does Tank Wars. (A contest to see who can build the best tank by taping all kinds of little fireworks onto a tank, making sure the fuses match up.) They put them in a circle, light them, and watch as the "war" unfolds.
Gavin and I just stood back and watched.
Every time a firework went off, he'd either give me a big hug,
point to it,
grab my hair,
or let me cover his ears.

Tracy Aviary
Took Gavin to Tracy Aviary in Salt Lake's Liberty Park. I LOVED it! (And I think Gavin loved it too.)
The Wetlands.
Proud Peacock.
Collecting sticks and pine cones along the way.
The flamingos (one of my favorites).
Children's play area.
Smile!
Checking out the Condor's wing span.
Coloring a Toucan or... Eating a Crayon? You decide.
He LOVED this!!
Waiting for the bird show to start.

Let Freedom Scream... I Mean, Ring!
Last year for the 4th of July, Gavin was pretty grumpy. He decided to stick with tradition and be grumpy this year as well. Could it be the heat? the late night fireworks? all the fanfare? Probably so...
We attended Gunnison's parade, carnival and the Sorensen BBQ then drove back to Utah County to spend some time with Matt's family at a park. It was a nice holiday, but tiring as well.
Trying to tickle Grumpy Gavin so he'll smile.
Wouldn't even look at the camera...
His first piece of candy.
Now he's happy, kinda...
Who doesn't love a parade?
Then again...
That Otter Pop made things better.
More pouting.
Really needing a nap.
Praise the Lord!!!
Then a ride on the train.
Throwing another fit b/c he had to get off the ride.
Sand box fun
Getting Ready to POP!
Sarah and Danny are getting ready to POP! (So we had to have a party!)
We dined on POPcorn and cake POPs and washed it all down with soda POP.
Competed to see who could blow the biggest bubble before it POPped.
Heat 1
Heat 2
Heat 3
The finale
And the winner: SHIRLYN!
We POPped each other's balloons.
(I lasted until there were 4 of us left. My strategy: Carry a baby and just hang out on the perimeters of all the chaos. It got me thus far.)
Then it was down to Shirece and Ann...
And ANN ended up winning! (Look at those splits!)
At the end, the mothers-to-be opened gifts.
We all had a POPpin' good time. ;)
