Gavin's Buddy, Brock.

When we moved to WX, I was really hoping and praying that there would be a cute boy around Gavin's age that we could have over for play dates.  Heavenly Father answered my prayers and that cute boy is Brock!  I visit teach his mom, Julie, and she immediately invited Gavin/me to a weekly play group she set up.  Then when I found out I'd need to be to mutual activities every Wednesday evening, the same Wednesday evenings that Matt has class, Julie came to my rescue and we do a babysitting swap.  Brock is such a sweet, well-mannered, happy-go-lucky boy.  I'm glad Gavin has him for a playmate.  He's 8 months older than Gavin so he kinda serves as a role-model for him as well.  Plus, they'll be in the same grade at school.

(Gavin laughing uncontrollably.)

The Renovation (Part 2)

 Spraying the ceiling

Happy New Year!  It was midnight on the 31st of December, and we decided to take a break from our painting and have a cup of cheer - Martinelli's apple cider, that is.

Getting hard to reach places.  I must admit - I scoffed at Matt's idea to do this: tape a paintbrush to a broom handle.  But it actually worked!

Colton came to help us splash some color on the walls and his face!

Prepping for COLOR! (We went with the color Sand Beach, in hopes that we'll feel like we're in Hawaii or on the California coast most days.)

Matt even painted UP his nostrils.

Tiled entry-way - compliments of The Justin.  LOVE it!

And... every post needs a picture of the G-Man, right?  :)

"Thirty Four"-ozen & Pink Snowballs

Matt helped me celebrate year 34 by taking me to the Disney movie, Frozen.  Matt's work friends, Katy and JD, came over to watch Gavin.  It was good to spend time with just my Matty.
Matt has given up on cooking because his last 2 attempts at it failed:  rock hard rice crispie treats and super dry cookies.  So he bought me some bday cake:  Pink Snowballs.  (They're my favorite.)
The following weekend, Nanette took me to the Olive Garden for some endless soup, salad and breadsticks.  Mmmmm.  We went to Deseret Book afterward and she helped me think of a cute gift to make the YW in my ward for New Beginnings.
