My Mom
My mom is one of my best friends. Throughout my life, I've watched and observed her and, by golly, at times I think I AM her! She is a wonderful teacher, she has a strong testimony of Jesus Christ, and she is a woman of much strength.
One of my favorite things to do with my mom is get into laughing fits - you know, where one starts laughing, only to make the other laugh and you both end up laughing so hard you wet your cheeks... (And we shall not specifying which "cheeks" I am referring to.)
My Grandma Sorensen
My Grandma Sorensen is a very quiet and reserved woman - until you get in a one-on-one conversation with her. Then she'll tell you all about the past and fill you in on what's happening with any extended family member. She would always come to my high school plays, my graduations, my orchestra concerts, etc., and she wrote to me faithfully while I was on my mission. I'm so glad she was able to attend my temple sealing/wedding. Her health is suffering now and I'm not sure how much longer she'll be on this side of the veil, but I'm so thankful for the sweet grandma that she is to me.
My Grandma Cahoon
Grandma "Swanee" passed away almost 1 1/2 years ago. My Uncle Lloyd tells me that people still come up to him and tell him how much she is missed. Swanee Cahoon from Saskatoon is unforgettable. The friendly "Hello" as you passed her on the street, the joke she'd tell, the turn of the century costumes she'd don, or the little ditty she played on her banjo all made her a well known member of her community. I miss her.
My Mother-in-Law
My mother-in-law, Kathy, will do ANYTHING for her children/grandchildren. She'll sew Halloween costumes, do their taxes, and make their favorite birthday cake. You just have to name it, and she'll do it! (And this is no easy feat because she has 7 (living) children, 6 daughters-in-law, a soon to be son in law, and 17 grandkids with 2 more on the way.) She makes the holidays special and loves having her family close by. Family is her everything, and I love that about her.
