Party in the House: Thomas the Train Style

Of couse Gavin was thrilled to have a Thomas party. We decided to have his party in conjunction with Alayna's blessing.  Gavin could barely contain himself during the blessing.  Matt had to list the order of events for him: prayer, pizza then presents to let him know that he would surely be opening the gifts soon.

Gavin looked at the letters in the cupcakes and told me it said, "Gavin's Thomas Party."

 Annie and Clarabel - Thomas' coaches.  Just about every time Gavin would play with his Thomas, he'd say, "I wish I had Annie and Clarabel."

After opening each gift, Gavin would exclaim, "What the heck!?!"  It was pretty cute.

Alayna's Blessing

Alayna hasn't gone to church yet and won't until she's healed from her first surgery.  So, it pretty much made sense to do an at-home blessing.  Our good bishop came over and presided while Matt gave a beautiful blessing to our beautiful girl.

The Threenager

A friend of mine told me that after the terrible twos, a "threenager" emerges.  Gavin will soon be three, and yes, he's a a little more independent and a whole lot more sass!  But I sure do love him!

St. Patrick's Day Dinner

Matt and Gavin requested green eggs and ham for our St. Patrick's Day din-din.  Gavin insisted he didn't like them until he took a bite and then proclaimed, "I like them Sam-I-Am!"  Perhaps we've been reading too much Dr. Seuss...

2 Months Old!

Hang-y Toy Fun!

2 months marks the half-way point through the hardest part of parenting:  the colicky infant stage.  (For me, anyway - and I realize I'm saying this having not experienced teenager-hood yet!)  The colic has definitely gotten better thanks to:  1) soy, 2) acid reflux medicines, and 3) a baby carrier my friend, Rachel, lent me.  (If you're reading this, Rachel - THANK YOU SO MUCH!  The carrier helps b/c she can sleep upright against me.  No acidic spit-up to wake her and send her into a screaming tizzy every 15 minutes or so.)

She had her 2 month check-up yesterday and is doing great!  She got her first set of immunizations and despite a bit of a temperature she's done well with them also.  Her 2 month stats are:

Weight:  10lbs, 13 oz (49%tile)

Height:  21.5 in. (17%tile)

Head Circumference:  15 in. (29%tile)

She loves to be social by staring at you, mimicking you (if you stick out your tongue, she'll stick out hers as well.), and cooing and awing in full conversation mode.  We love our Laynie-Bug!
