Ketchup... I mean, Catch-up!

Our sweet Irish mum, Sharon Kearney, sent Laynie some jewel art to do while she was recovering.

Gavin's valentine box - he had made an army tank prior to V-Day and decided to turn it into a box to hold his valentines.

We purchased "Get Out" passes for the kids for Christmas and went to Sea Quest in Layton.  We always have a fun time going there.

We also went to the Bean Museum in Provo.  It's been a cold spring and we needed to "get out!"

Laynie had her Winter recital in February.   Her cute little team was all the BUZZ!  They danced to a song called Queen Bee and did such an amazing job!

It's been so fun to see Laynie's confidence grow through dance.  I love watching her clog on stage!

Her studio participated in a competition at Thanksgiving Point in early May.  Her little team did really well and were awarded Judges Choice and one other award I can't remember - 1st place in the beginning clogging division, I think. (I'm still trying to figure out the award system.)

Laynie also received 1st place in her solo dances.

At the end of February, Gavin had his last Blue and Gold Banquet for cub scouts.

Brianne Ballard has been a phenomenal den leader.  So much time, effort and service goes into being a scout leader.  we really appreciate her!

Also at the end of February, Matt and I hosted a mystery murder dinner date!  It was a lot of work/fun!

Joni and Justin were HILARIOUS!!  They never went out of character and had us all laughing!

Gavin has powered up to level 11!

Gavin turned 11 years on April 6th.  His birthday always fall during Spring Break, so it's a bit tricky to work a party around.  I was so relieved when Gavin said he'd like a couple of friends to take to the new Mario movie that was coming out around his birthday.  So on April 8th, we took Gavin, Michael Thornton and Hunter Jenson to the movie.  Afterward, we came back to the house for cake and ice cream, presents and a game of Throw, Throw Burrito!

Gavin made his own birthday invitation:

We bought Super Mario shirts for the 3 boys to wear to the theatre at a store called 5 Below.  We tucked the invite into the rolled up shirts and Gavin delivered them to Hunter and Michael.

On April 6th, Dad decorated Gavin's door.

Laynie brought him breakfast in bed.

And I decorated a Super Mario cake.

Laynie gave Gavin the game, Throw, Throw Burrito.  We also had Grandma/pa Anderson over for dinner, but somehow, I didn't take any pictures?!?

Thumbs up to this "SUPER" dude!  I sure think the world of him!

Laynie and Dad bought trick candles that kept relighting for the birthday cake!!  Hee, hee!
