High-FIVE for Laynie!!

She woke up on her birthday and said she felt TALLER.  She was convinced that she'd be able to ride Goofy's Sky School now that she was five.  (She was 1-1/2 inches too short the day before.)  We had to celebrate Laynie in small increments due to our Fabulous Birthday Vacation.

On January 7th, we celebrated Laynie in preschool.  I got to read her favorite book - Pinkalicious and then Laynie shared pink cupcakes with her class mates.

Here she is painting with snow!

On January 14th, we surprised Laynie with some mermaid presents!

Then on January 17th, we had Grandma/pa Anderson over for a mermaid birthday dinner.

Is it just me, or does she look older?!?  My baby is 5, and I'm not liking the idea of her leaving me next year to go to kindergarten...

Day 5 of Laynie's Fabulous 5 Vacation!

For our last day of the vacation, we went to Huntington Beach and spent a couple hours there.  I wish we could have spent longer, but we needed to make the long trek home.  Side note:  It was warmer on January 12th than it was on July 17th when Matt and I went to this same beach for our honeymoon!

It was Laynie's birthday!

After the beach, we changed our of our sandy/wet clothes then drove all the way home.  We arrived safely around midnight.  It was such a fun vacation.  I love creating memories like this with our family.  I think this trip may have even topped The Leonardo!

We got the kids a little treat at the end of the day.
