Presidents' Day Weekend

We took the kids out on the town to Pizza Pie Cafe and the Monte L. Bean Museum.  Hadn't been to the museum in over 10 years, and boy has it changed!

Matt and I decided we needed a little more spontaneity in our lives so we decided to adopt a 6 month old kitty.  She's so sweet and my cat loving days are indeed back!
Gavin loves her too.

And so does Laynie.

Matt?  Yep.  He as well.
She's become part of our family.  Now we just need to name her.

Gavin lost his 4th tooth (upper right) by eating chips and salsa.

A big snowstorm rolled in as well.  Hopefully dumping more needed moisture on our dry mountains...

It was a great weekend!

Year of the Dog

February 16th was the Chinese New Year.  We made it special by eating orange chicken with chopsticks, wearing chinese hats, and...

reciting Chinese poetry!  (Grandma Swanee would be proud.)

Nice night, in June
stars shine, big moon.
In park, on bench
With girl, in clench
Me say, me love
She coo like dove.
Me smart, me fast
Never let chance pass.
Get hitched, me say?
She say, okay.
Wedding bells ring-a-ling
Honeymoon, everything.

'Nother night in June,
Stars shine, big moon.
Me happy, no more.
Carry baby, walk floor.
Wife mad, she fuss
Me mad, me cuss
Life one big spat,
Naggy wife, bawling brat.
Realize at last,
Me TOO DARN FAST!

Pretty Nails

Laynie loves having her nails painted - PINK.  Grandma Anderson invited her to go to her nail technician to get her nails done.  Laynie was very serious during the appointment.  She chose pink polish with silver hearts and a silver butterfly with a diamond in the center.

Thank you, Grammie Anderson for a fun evening!

That's Amore!

Valentines Day 2018
Matt Loves to show his Love.  Every year he gets his girls flowers and Gavvy and the Girls chocolates.

Happy Gavvy

Laynie LOVES Valentines Day.

Sweets for our Sweeties

Matt got plastic flowers for his girls this year.  He thought Laynie would like to hold her flower instead of just look at it in a vase.  I quite enjoyed the plastic as well...

I was in charge of Gavin's kindergarten V-day party.  The kids had a fun time and loved all their valentines.

For one of the stations, the kids made Valentine Candy Airplanes.  Gavin wanted a picture of his before he disassembled it and ate it up.

We had a candle lit dinner with Grandma/pa Anderson in the evening.  Meatloaf with a ketchup heart on top was served with mashed potatoes, stuffing, and a vegetable.

Odds n Ends

Feb 8 - Laynie built a tower while mom and dad sat in on Gavin's parent-teacher conference.  Gavin is doing well.  Mostly doing beginning of first grade work, but needs to work on being "flexible."

Gavin was gifted a box full of Legos from Brother Johnson in our ward.  He was on Cloud 9.

Laynie got into the Lego building action too.

This winter has been remarkably warm.  Hardly any snowfall, and that worries me.

My cutie-patootie

And Laynie insisted of taking a picture of me too.
