All in a Day's "Play"

 Gavvy loves his exer-saucer.

 Smile!!!

 The Big Cheese

He's been a little Jumpin' Jelly Bean these days so we bought him a Johnny Jumper at a yard sale. He didn't know what to think of it.

As of now, he prefers to jump on the laps of  Mommy and Daddy.  We just don't get why he prefers our laps over the coat closet...

Uncle Lloyd

Uncle Lloyd came to visit this past Friday evening.  We went out for pizza, heard about his camping/hiking adventures in central and southern Utah, and watched an episode of Mr. Bean.  The next day, he left to head back to Canada.  Thanks for the visit, Uncle Lloyd!

Just chillin' in our pj's.  :)

My baby is growing up!
Gavin went to the doctor yesterday and got his 2nd set of immunizations.  He was so sad afterward and has been sleeping a lot ever since.

His 4 month stats are as follows:

Length:  26.5 inches (96%tile)
Head Circumference:  16.75 inches (80%tile)

Here's a video of "The Roll-Over."  He's quite proficient at going from tummy to back now.

7 Years...

7 years of teaching.
7 years of fun.
7 years of lessons.
Now my work is done.

One week ago from today, Matt came home from work all distraught because his boss told him the deadline for getting a possible promotion had been bumped back yet again - this time to the end of December.  I resigned myself to the fact that I'd have to be a working mom, and that I'd have to figure out how to juggle a career and a family at the same time.  (Kudos to those who do this because I know it's not easy.)  That entire day, I felt uneasy about that decision so I contacted a bunch of fb friends to see if anyone was interested in having me babysit their children.  That day, 4 moms responded and the extra income I would be earning with babysitting would make it possible for us to buy health insurance.  I knew it was an answer to prayer.  I contacted my boss on Friday and let her know I wouldn't be coming back.

Then a miracle happened.  On Monday, Matt went to work and found out they were offering him a substantial raise.  Faith preceded the miracle.  So many times Heavenly Father requires that of us.  To take one step into the darkness before He lights the way.  We feel very blessed.

On Monday, Mom came to help me pack things up.  It was so hard to know what to do with everything.  (My classroom had loads of cupboard space, and for some reason, I felt like I needed to fill it.)  But after a long day of work we were able to get it all done.

Today I turned in my keys and computer.  I stood at the door where I welcomed my students each day and cried.  I passed 6 year old Sofi in the hallway and she asked to see her old classroom.  Before she left, she wrote me a message on the easel.  It read, "I miss you Mrs. A."

I'll miss you too, Sofi... I'll miss you too.
