I love having a birthday so close to my daughter's! We get to have double the fun! On Sunday, Jan. 10th (my birthday), Grandma/pa Anderson came over for dinner. Laynie requested hamburgers and fries. I made my favorite - blueberry torte with gluten free crust to boot!

Grandma/pa Anderson gave Laynie lots of CRAFT items that she'll enjoy doing.
After school, the kids quickly did their homework then Laynie opened her gift from us:

Matt took us to Los Hermanos restaurant for dinner.

Then Matt drove us to the Ice Castles in Midway. We came here 3 years ago - right before I miscarried and was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. So much has happened in those 3 years... So much heartache/frustration/anger/fear/lose... At 41, I felt almost like a completely different person than that young 38 year old! My body is very different nowadays, but I'm thankful for it and know that when life gives you lemons, we can turn it around and make lemonade.
Just when you thought the partying was over... think again! On Saturday, January 16th, I drove Laynie down to Gunnison to have a little birthday party with her girl cousins. She'd been wanting/planning to have a Fancy Nancy birthday party for over 6 months! (This girl lives for her birthdays!)
