Matt's "Golden" Birthday

What is a "Golden" Birthday, you may ask?  Well, it is the birthday to which you turn the same age as your birthdate.  So... yesterday, Matt turned 29 on the 29th - Pretty Golden!

On Matt's way home from work yesterday, he saw these signs:

To which he opened the door to find ME yelling, "Happy Birthday!"

And our kitchen table that looked like this:

I had him sit down in the chair

and open his gifts of gold.

He discovered:
A WAVE RUNNER!!!!!  (He's been begging for one of these.)

 "Gold"fish crackers (His fave.)

 A loverly tie

And new dress shoes (Stylin'!)

Then we met up with Matt's parents at the Asian Buffet (Matt's choice of restaurant).

Happy Golden Birthday, Matty Boy!!!

Someone's excited about the Halloween candy!

Sneak Peek

I won a free photo shoot from Bloom & Grow Photography.  It was a 2nd place glamour shots prize - a photo session where the photographer was going to "rock my world" and make me look drop dead gorgeous.  I was a bit worried.  Could a photographer really do that - achieve the impossible?!  I asked if instead she would be willing to take Gavin's pictures at 6 months.  She happily agreed.  Phew!  RELIEF.  (I'm not sure I was up to having my world rocked in that way.)
Gavin was pretty tired during the shoot, but this cute smile managed to come out.  I can't wait to see the rest!!!

The Pumpkin Patch

Grandma/pa Anderson invited Gavin to come to a pumpkin patch close to where they live.

He had a splendid time.

"I'll pick that cute little pumpkin with the orange stripes, please."

Happy Harvest Time!

Little Life on the Dairy...

Over fall break, Gavin and I visited the farm.  While growing up, I detested going down to the farm.  I still do.  But I sure love the wide open spaces, clean air (minus that dairy stench), and sagebrush.  Oh how I love the country!  I started crying as I drove onto the dirt road that leads to the house I grew up in.  So many memories came flooding back to me of my little life on the dairy.  It was good to be home!

I got to sleep with G-Man for 2 nights in the same bed.  I loved cuddling up to him.

Gavin's first time seeing the steers.

I just told Gavin what the steers were REALLY standing in.  Not sure he believed me...

Gavin isn't afraid of animals.  Does this mean he'll be a pet person?!

 Giddy-up, horsie!

Look everyone!  Matt can ride bareback with no hands!
(He's a pro already.)

The swing set Dad made for us over 30 years ago.

 Dilly the Dog

 Kisses!

Dilly's mom, Blue, died the day this picture was taken from liver failure.  I loved Blue.  She was my walking dog.  :(  I hope Dilly does okay without her mommy.

Grammy and Gavvy (Not only were they born on the same day, but they both have flat heads in the back.)  :)

The Workout Program

We have started a workout program for Gavin.  :)  He loves it, really.

And I quote Matt:

After watching Gavin workout on the Johnny Jumper, Matt said, "Maybe Gavin will get rid of his thunder thighs now."  I agreed.
Then a few seconds later, Matt said to me, "I think Gavin has your legs."

Thanks, Matt.  :)
