My baby isn't a baby anymore. I see new babies at the park and think, "Was Gavin ever that small?" He must have been, but somehow he grew up. For now, that's okay with me. I'm lovin' this toddler stage!
Gavin has been saying so many new words. His vocabulary seems to increase with a new word each day. His first word ever was "tickle." Since then he's been saying: kiss, hot, go, hat, yes, wow, oh, whoa, baba (bottle), horse, bird, cow, What's that?, mom, daddy, cark (car), ball, nose, eyes, two (if I count "one" and "three," he'll put the word "two" in between), no, rock, tree, shoes, duck, bath, dog, etc. etc. etc. Also, this may just be the teacher in me, but I'm pretty sure he can identify the letter "G"... :)
While at Grandma's house yesterday, a nature show was on the television documenting a species of bird. Grandma asked Gavin, "What is that?" He responded with his first "complex" SENTENCE: "It's a bird." We were all pretty shocked, and just to be sure we asked again to which he responded, "It's a bird."
Here's another thing: I need to "Toddler Proof." Things that were baby proofed just aren't working these days. Need to think of a new way to keep him out of the books/DVDs we don't want ruined. Hmmm...
Matt has class Tues/Wed so I see him all but maybe 2 hours during that time; and Gavin, not at all. Makes for a good excuse to visit Grandma/pa on those days, doesn't it? I'd do it every week if gas wasn't so expensive. :)
