During the last week in July, we went to Pineview Reservoir and stayed at "Anderson Cove" campground. Ryan and Misti's family joined us and we had a fun time escaping the usual grind of every day living. We slept in our tent, had s'mores, played games, spent lots of time at the reservoir playing in the water, and just enjoying one another's company. Our kids had a good time and I hope lots of memories were made for them.
Matt bought a paddleboard which was a hit on the lake.
Kids practicing their yoga poses??
Laynie loved playing on the beach.
(Cousin Lili did too.)
The rest of us preferred the cool water.
Gavin using the paddle board.
And here he is throwing...mud.
The highlight of the trip was when Matt found his sunglasses that fell into the lake when he fell off the paddle board. We all thought it was a lost cause, but 4 hours later, he decided he would comb the bottom of the lake with his feet. He kept finding odd things like netting, sopping wet towels, and a beer bottle. We were all just standing in the water up to our necks and Matt chided that we weren't helping him search. Seconds later, he let out a little squeal and pulled up his sunglasses! We all couldn't stop laughing!
Much to Laynie's delight, I bough materials for tie-dye.
I think everyone enjoyed designing their own shirt.

Our Family
Misti brought a fun dice/candy game.
Gavin (pretending to be) asleep.
Matt cooked us all some tin foil dinners.
I'm so glad Matt's brother's family joined us. They made things exciting, and we learned a bit about camping from them!
